One combination bar and coffee shop has shut its doors, but a new coffee house and taproom is on the way, along with a fresh partnership between a Pittsburgh-area taproom and a catering company.
2. $807K Jackpot Winning PA Lottery Ticket Sold In Pittsburgh-Area Supermarket (patch.com) — Someone who bought a Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 with Quick Cash ticket at the Giant Eagle on Washington Pike in Collier Township just hit an $807,317 jackpot, bringing a big win to the Pittsburgh area. The supermarket earns a $5,000 bonus, and lottery officials urge local players to check their tickets soon, since all prizes must be claimed within a year.
3. Man Accused Of Indecent Exposure Outside Of Pittsburgh Mall (patch.com) — A Pittsburgh man from Crafton Heights is facing indecent exposure and open lewdness charges after a woman reported he exposed himself in a vehicle outside Ross Park Mall in Ross Township. Police say they identified him using a photo of the car and license plate, and a preliminary hearing on the new charges is set for November 4.
4. Meijer Advances Plans For 2nd Pittsburgh-Area Store (patch.com) — Meijer is moving forward with its first Pittsburgh-area superstore in Cranberry's Henderson Crossing development, which will feature a large grocery, gas station and drive-thru pharmacy. The retailer has also purchased land for a second Butler County location in Jackson's Pointe Commerce Park, though construction and opening dates remain uncertain.
5. Kennywood Owner Sued Over Online Ticket Price Fee (patch.com) — Pittsburgh-area visitors to Kennywood may be affected by a new lawsuit accusing the park's parent company of hiding online ticket fees through so-called drip pricing. Filed in Allegheny County court, the case seeks class-action status for Pennsylvania residents who bought Kennywood tickets online and were charged an unexplained $2.50 fee above the advertised price.
