• Accused Killer Of Pittsburgh UPMC Children's Hospital Doctor Now Faces Rape Charges (patch.com) — Pittsburgh-area readers are learning more about the man accused of killing a UPMC Children's Hospital doctor in his Edgewood home and critically injuring the physician's wife, whose condition is now stable. Allegheny County Police say the suspect, already facing homicide and related charges, has now been additionally charged in a separate Wilkinsburg rape and robbery that occurred the previous day.
   

• New development 'The Standard on Fifth' offers affordable housing option in Pittsburgh's Uptown (wpxi.com) — A newly opened project called The Standard on Fifth is adding 51 apartments, including 40 affordable units and 17 voucher units, right in Pittsburgh's Uptown neighborhood along Fifth Avenue. The all-electric building sits on the new bus rapid transit line, and city leaders say it's a model for expanding quality, energy-efficient housing options in the community.
