Another Pittsburgh Grocery Gets Slapped With Consumer Alert

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for customers of the Murray Avenue Kosher grocery in Squirrel Hill.

The issues? Let's begin with the old dead rat in a basement storage area under a conveyor belt.

Let's continue. A fresh dead mouse was observed in the basement kitchen area. Rodent droppings were observed throughout the grocery.

Chewed, gnawed products were found in the basement, including a half-eaten chocolate bar.

Meat in a walk-in cooler that is in an open container was found to be exposed to dripping water from an unknown source.

The condenser inside the deli display case was observed dripping into a bowl of cooked meatballs.l

A lack of sanitizer also was noted.
