Arson-Ravaged Pittsburgh Bar D's Finally Reopens

SWISSVALE, PA — Give the people at D's Six Pax and Dogz an A-grade for effort. Four months after the popular bar and restaurant was deliberately damaged by fire, the beers are again flowing and the dogs are again being grilled.

D's announced in a Facebook post that it's opening its doors again Wednesday.

"Are we ready? (To be determined) ha ha," the post stated. "Come help us shake these cobwebs off our brains."

Joseph Pepp, 28, of Crafton Heights, faces three counts of aggravated arson and other charges in connection with the fire in August that heavily damaged the restaurant.

According to police, an argument occurred between a bartender and a trio that included Pepp, who were refused drinks after last call was given. In retaliation, one of them walked to the rear of the building and set a commercial recycling bin on fire.

Surveillance video determined the fire was set by someone matching Pepp's description, police said.
