Authorities Nab Pittsburgh Armed Robbery Suspect

A man wanted in connection with two recent armed robberies in Pittsburgh was taken into custody by police Thursday. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A suspect has been arrested after two recent armed robberies in the city's Oakland and East Liberty neighborhoods.

Police said Nathaniel Weatherspoon, 32, was apprehended Thursday following a search warrant executed at a house in the 500 block of Lowell Street.

Weatherspoon allegedly recently held up Layne's Chicken Fingers on Forbes Avenue in Oakland and DTLR apparel on Penn Avenue in East Liberty.

Weatherspoon is facing multiple charges, including robbery, receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy and vehicle code violations.

Weatherspoon taken into custody by the Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Violent Crimes Unit, Violence Prevention Unit, and Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers from Zones 1 and 5. Allegheny County Police and the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force
