Avoid The Parkway East At All Costs This Weekend
Unless you don't mind sitting in standstill traffic, you're better off steering clear of the highway.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Parkway East again essentially will be turned into a parking lot this weekend as PennDOT continues milling and paving operations. Lane restrictions are as follows:
- Westbound (inbound) I-376 between the Squirrel Hill Tunnel and the Oakland North 885 (Exit 73B) interchange will have a single lane restriction in the three-lane section from 9 p.m. Friday through 11 p.m. Sunday. .
- Eastbound (outbound) I-376 between the Bates Street on-ramp and the Edgewood/Swissvale (Exit 77) interchange will be reduced to a single lane from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday..
Additionally, the following ramps will be closed and traffic will be detoured:
- Bates Street on-ramp to eastbound (outbound) I-376 from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
- Beechwood Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound (outbound) I-376 from 9 p.m. Fridayt through 5 a.m. Monday.
- Eastbound (outbound) I-376 off-ramp at the Edgewood/Swissvale (Exit 77) interchange, which includes the ramp to Swissvale (Monongahela Avenue), the ramp to Edgewood (South Braddock Avenue), and the Edgewood ramp to Greendale Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Sunday.

- From Bates Street, turn right onto Second Avenue.
- Turn left onto B Street.
- Turn right onto First Avenue.
- Turn right onto Grant Street.
- Turn right onto the Boulevard of the Allies.
- Take the ramp to eastbound I-376 toward Monroeville.
- End detour.
Beechwood Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound (outbound) I-376
- From Beechwood Boulevard, take the ramp to westbound (inbound) I-376).
- Take the Glenwood/South 885 (Exit 73A) off-ramp.
- From southbound Route 885 (Bates Street), take the ramp to eastbound (outbound) I-376 toward Monroeville.
- Follow eastbound I-376 back to the closed ramp.
- End detour.
Eastbound (outbound) I-376 off-ramp to Edgewood/Swissvale

- Continue eastbound (outbound) past the closed ramp.
- Take the North 8 Wilkinsburg (Exit 79B) off-ramp.
- Follow Route 8 (Ardmore Boulevard) north to Brinton Road/Malboro Avenue intersection.
- Make a hard left onto the ramp to 376 Pittsburgh/Monroeville.
- Bear right onto the ramp toward West 376 Pittsburgh.
- Follow westbound I-376 to the Edgewood/Swissvale off-ramp.
- At the traffic signal at the end of the ramp, motorists heading to Edgewood or Glendale. Avenue will turn right onto South Braddock Avenue. Motorists heading to Swissvale will turn left onto South Braddock Avenue.
- End detour
Additionally, the Beechwood Boulevard/Forward Avenue on-ramp to westbound (inbound) I-376 will be placed in a stop condition from Friday at 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.
Also, sealing operations requiring a moving operation with single-lane restrictions will occur in each direction of I-376 between the Edgewood/Swissvale (Exit 77) and Pennsylvania Turnpike (Exit 85) interchanges according to the following schedule:
- From Friday at 10 p.m. to noon Saturday.
- From Saturday at 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday.
