Baby Delivered On Pittsburgh Highway During Massive Snowstorm

PITTSBURGH, PA — Call him the blizzard baby.
During the most brutal snowstorm to hit Pittsburgh in more than 15 years, a baby boy could not wait to get to a hospital before he arrived on Sunday along a Pittsburgh highway.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers arrived to an unspecified location on the Parkway North at around 11:25 p.m. on Sunday to assist Pittsburgh paramedics. There, they found that a baby boy had just been delivered inside the car.

Troopers provided assistance until paramedics arrived and then assisted with traffic control while paramedics cared for the newborn.
The family was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and care. According to police, both mother and baby are reported to be doing well.
