Back To School: Pittsburgh Public Schools 2021-22 School Calendar

Parents in Pittsburgh can mark the first day of school coming later this summer.

PITTSBURGH, PA —The first day of school for most students in the Pittsburgh Public Schools is Aug. 25. Grades 10 and 11 report Aug. 26 and the first day for kindergarten students is Aug. 30.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in city schools.

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

First Day: Grades 1-8, 9 and 12: Aug. 25; Grades 10 and 11: Aug. 26; Kindergarten, Aug. 30.

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-26.

Spring Break: April 11-18.
