Backstreet Boys, Jason Aldean Top Pittsburgh Weekend Events

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Boys are back in town. The Backstreet Boys have been touring in support of their current album, “DNA,” which was released in January.

The boys might be tired, as Pittsburgh is the second-to-last stop on the tour, which began in May. Still, expect to hear favorites such as “As Long As You Love Me,” “Quit Playin’ Games,” and “Incomplete,”

The Backstreet Boys will perform Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena.

  • Jason Aldean, Sept. 14, KeyBank Pavilion

The country superstar brings the "Ride All Night Tour" to Pittsburgh, along with Carley Pearce and Dee Jay Silver. Expect to hear hits such as "Dirt Road Anthem," "Any Ol' Barstool," "Lights Come On," and "Night Train."

  • Steelers v. Seattle Seahawks, Sept.15, 1 p.m., Heinz Field

The Steelers likely are as anxious to move on from Sunday’s total stinker in New England fans are. The Black-and-Gold can’t possibly be as horrible as they were against the Patriots, can they? Here’s a chance to prove it against a West Coast team making a cross-country flight to play an early Sunday game.

  • Disney's The Lion King, Sept. 12, 7:30 p.m.; Sept 13, 8 p.m.; Sept 14 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sept. 15, 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., Benedum Center.

The beloved musical makes a triumphant return to the Benedum Center for the first time since its record-breaking 2013 engagement. As animals are brought to life onstage, you can thrill to the rhythms of the African Pridelands and an unforgettable score including Elton John and Tim Rice's Oscar-winning song "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" and "Circle Of Life."

  • Frankie Avalon, Sept, 15, 6 p.m., Palace Theater, Greensburg.

After the Steelers play the Seahawks, you can drive out to Westmoreland county to catch the legendary singer who led The Four Seasons. Expect to hear classic hits such as “That’s the Name of the Game,” “Beauty School Dropout,” “ginger Bread,” and “Venus.”
