BALDWIN, PA -National Bullying Prevention Month occurs every October, and it shines
the spotlight on how school districts address instances and consequences of bullying. How does the Baldwin-Whitehall School District address the problem?
The district policy defines bullying as an intentional electronic, written, verbal or physical act or
series of acts directed at another student or students, which occurs in a school setting and/or outside a school setting that is severe, persistent or pervasive. Bullying is defined as having the effect of substantially interfering with a student's education, creating a threatening environment and substantially disrupting the operation of a school.

Students are encouraged to use the district’s report form, available from the building principal, or to put the complaint in writing. Oral complaints also are accepted. Bullying complaints are to be investigated promptly and appropriate corrective or preventive action is taken when allegations are substantiated.
Students who are found to have engaged in bullying are subject to disciplinary action that can include counseling within the school, parental conference, loss of school privileges, exclusion from school-sponsored activities, detention, suspension, expulsion counseling or therapy outside of school and possible referral to law enforcement officials.
