Bank Robber Flees Down South Side Street After Heist: Police
The FBI and Pittsburgh police are searching for the gun-wielding man who held up a First Commonwealth Bank

PITTSBURGH, PA — The FBI and Pittsburg police are searching for a gun-wielding man who robbed a local bank Thursday afternoon and was last seen fleeing down a South Side street. The authorities have released surveillance photos of the individual, who held up a First Commonwealth Bank.
Police officers responded shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday to the report of a robbery at the bank, at 2501 E. Carson St. The robber had already left the scene, according to a police report.
The police said the robber, described as a white man, entered the bank, approached a teller, placed a gun on the counter and demanded money.

He's described as about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build. He wore a dark baseball hat "with some sort of black hosiery covering most of his face," along with blue jeans and a grey shirt, the police report added.
Carrying an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the bank on foot down East Carson Street toward South 24th Street, the police said. The Pittsburgh Police Bureau's Violent Crime Unit is investigating the heist.
