Bed Bath & Beyond Files For Bankruptcy
The once-mighty retailer is slated to begin store closure sales this week.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Bed Bath & Beyond plans what it calls "an orderly wind-down of its businesses" after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sunday.
The company's 360 Bed Bath & Beyond and 120 buybuy BABY stores and websites will remain open for the moment, but store closing sales will begin on Wednesday. The company said it also will attempt to auction off the Bead Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY brand names.
The company said it will seek to sell some or all of its businesses. If a buyer is found, Bed Bath & Beyond will cease store closures; if not the company is expected to be liquidated entirely and go out of business.
