Bed Bug Prompts Early Dismissal At Pittsburgh-Area High School

PITTSBURGH, PA - South Allegheny High School and South Allegheny Middle School students were dismissed early Tuesday after a bed bug was found in the building housing both schools. The district plans to have a licensed pest control specialist treat every classroom, office and the lockers today.

The district announced on its website that the building will be closed of after-school activities, including the fitness center. Athletic practices have been moved to South Allegheny Elementary School.

Classes are expected to resume on Wednesday.

South Allegheny draws students from Port Vue, Liberty, Glassport and Lincoln.
