Beloved Pittsburgh Pizzeria Employee Collapses & Dies On Job

A worker at a well-known Pittsburgh pizzeria suffered a fatal incident while on the job.

PITTSBURGH, PA — It was a normal evening at Napoli Pizza in Squirrel Hill on Saturday, and then worker Tim Watts collapsed on the job and stopped breathing.

His fellow workers provided CPR until EMS workers arrived at the scene minutes later, but their efforts were to no avail. Watts was taken to UPMC Presbyterian in Oakland, where he was pronounced dead.

Watts, of Turtle Creek, was 62.

" Tim was a very kind man who was loved by anyone that had the pleasure of meeting him," a post on Napoli's Facebook page stated shortly after the incident.

"He was always positive and smiling every time he came to work. Seeing the raw emotion on people's faces last night at the store just shows how much people cared for him. You will be missed Tim. Rest in Peace."

According to his obituary, Watts also was a longtime employee of the now defunct Original Hot Dog Shop in Oakland, where he was a manager and friend of the Simon family, who owned the business.

He also worked for The Exchange video and music store in the South Side.
