Bomb Threat Reported At Pittsburgh-Area High School

Police are on the scene at the high school.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Classes will resume Thursday at Chartiers Valley High School and middle school after being canceled Wednesday after a bomb threat.

Chartiers Valley superintendent Johannah Vanatta said in a statement on the district's website that the threat, directed at the high school, was later found by police to not be credible. But in the interest of caution, buses dropped off high school students at their home bus stops and middle school students were not picked up.

"While we acknowledge that the timing of this situation made for short notice, we appreciate parents’ patience, understanding and trust that decisions were made in the interest of student safety," Vanatta wrote. "As always, the security of our students and staff is of utmost
importance as we work to provide a safe learning environment for all."
