Carnegie Science Center, Museums, Warhol Reopening Soon

PITTSBURGH, PA —Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh will reopen its four museums later this month, with timed ticketing and other safety protocols in place as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The museums have been closed since March.
Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, Carnegie Science Center, and The Andy Warhol Museum will reopen to members only on June 26 and to the general public on June 29. Timed ticketing will be available on all Carnegie Museums websites on June 15.
“We have been preparing for this day with a single-minded focus: the safety and well-being of our staff and our visitors. That will continue to drive everything we do,” Steven Knapp, president and CEO of Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, said in a release.

The four museums will be limiting the number of visitors to 25 percent of building capacity at any one time; usingtimed ticketing for all visitors, including members; have clearly marked foot-traffic patterns in high-traffic areas; use enhanced cleaning protocols; and will modify the modification of interactive exhibits where possible.
There also will be additional hand sanitizers near interactive exhibits and plexiglass shields at
visitor services desks and in office spaces. Visitors and staff will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
