PITTSBURGH, PA - The record-breaking Andrew Lloyd Weber spectacular “Cats” has returned to Pittsburgh. This production brings an all-new lighting design, all-new sound design, new choreography and direction by Trevor Nunn, whose credits include "Les Miserables."

Winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, “Cats” tells the story of a night when an extraordinary tribe of cats gathers for its annual ball to rejoice and decide which cat will be reborn.

You can get your feline fix in at the Benedum Center Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m.; Feb 28 at 8 p.m.; Feb. 29 at 2 p.m and 8 p.m. and March 1 and 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Presented by Fatheads Brewery, this event is expected to attract more than 15,000 people to experience hundreds of craft beers and food from food trucks and restaurants. All proceeds benefit Animal Rescue Partners Inc. and Biggies Bullies of Pittsburgh.

  • Wine Shine Mac’n Cheese Fest, Feb. 29, 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monroeville Convention Center.

Sample wines from Bear Creek Wines, Bee Kind Winery, Big Spring Spirits. D&O Wine Cellars, Deer Creek Winery, Fractured Grape Wine Cellars, Hungry Run Wine Cellars, Juniata Valley Winery, KingView Mead and more. Mac and cheese themed menus will be provided by DelVecchio's Sausage Truck, Mobile Chef, Speals on Wheels and Wok on Wheels, and various vendors will be on hand.

  • Pittsburgh Polar Plunge, Feb. 29, 9 .m., Heinz Field

Jumping into a swimming pool in Pittsburgh at the end of February is a little nuts, but it's for a good cause. Those who pay $50 for the privilege of leaping into the freezing water know it's going to benefit the Special Olympics; the event typically raises more than $250,000 for the organization.
