Century III Mall: Portion Of Abandoned Mall's Roof Collapses
The decaying mall continues to deteriorate.

WEST MIFFLIN, PA — Portions of the roof of the dilapidated and deteriorating Century III Mall have collapsed. The large hole in the roof is believed to be in the area of an April fire in the building that is suspected to have been deliberately set.
Images of the collapse have been posted on social media.
Last month, borough officials condemned the building, whose interior closed in 2019 and whose last retailer with an exterior entrance departed in 2020.

Also last month, a district judge fined mall owner Moonbeam Capital Investments $240,000 for the building's deteriorated conditions. Court records indicated the owners had violated West Mifflin laws on sanitation, unsafe structures, weeds and high growth.
Squatters and drug activity have been reported in the mall's derelict ruins. Authorities have advised people against breaking into the graffiti-strewn building, which has mold, pooled water and no power.
