Charges Pending In Pittsburgh Cat Hoarding Case: Police
Police rescued at least two dozen cats from a Lawrenceville home that was later condemned.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh police animal law officers found at least two dozen cats and kittens living in deplorable conditions Thursday in a home in the 4000 block of Foster Street in Lawrenceville. Criminal charges are pending, police said.
Police began investigating after the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire alerted them to possible animal hoarding after responding to a recent fire.
The homeowner was on scene and surrendered the animals to Humane Animal Rescue on the North Side.

The Red Cross was called in to assist the two residents of the house after the Department of Permits Licenses and Inspections condemned the dwelling.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
