Children's Hospital Of Pittsburgh Receives National Accolades
The hospital again was ranked among the nation's top pedicatric facilities by U.S. News & World Report.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC again has been rated among the best in the country across numerous pediatric specialties. So says U.S. News & World Report, which released its 14th annual Best Children's Hospitals rankings Tuesday.
Children's in Pittsburgh, which ranked ninth nationally, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which was second, were the only children's hospitals in Pennsylvania to make the news
organization's list.

UPMC Children’s is ranked for excellence in all specialty areas and is among the top ten in four specialties: cardiology and heart surgery (second; diabetes and endocrinology (seventh); gastroenterology and gastroenterology surgery (ninth); and pulmonology (tenth).
The 2020-21 rankings were created from data collected through a clinicalsurvey sent to nearly 200 hospitals and a survey sent to thousands of pediatric doctors nationwide. RTI International, a North Carolina-basedresearch and consulting firm that also generates the Best Hospitalsrankings, administered both surveys and analyzed the results.

More than 100 pediatric medical experts provided input on what information to collect and how to analyze the data. The clinical data used in the rankings reflect a period of time that ended before the coronavirus outbreak.
