'A Christmas Story' Star Visiting Pittsburgh

Peter Billingsley, who played Ralphie in the Christmas classic, will be in town this weekend.

PITTSBURGH, PA — "You'll shoot your eye out!" "I triple-dog dare you!" Those are among the well-recited lines of one of the most acclaimed holiday movies ever: "A Christmas Story."

Actor-producer Peter Billingsley, who starred as Ralphie Parker in the film, will be in Pittsburgh this weekend. He will be appearing at Steel City Con in Monroeville Friday through Sunday and will be available for autographs and photos.

Billingsley's visit coincides with the 40th anniversary of the beloved movie. The which chronicles the adventures of Ralphie as he tries to convince his parents, teacher and a department store Santa that he should get a Red Ryder Range 200-shot BB gun for Christmas.

The movie is broadcast for 24 hours on Christmas day on WTBS and sister station TNT.

Billingsley, 52, has had success both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. For example, the former child actor received an Emmy Award nomination as co-executive producer on the critically acclaimed Independent Film Channel show "Dinner for Five."
