Columbus Day Parade, Dino Stroll & Other Fun Pgh. Weekend Events

There's a lot going on in and around Pittsburgh this weekend.

PITTSBURGH, PA — From dinosaurs to Donnie Iris, there's no shortage of entertaining activities to keep you occupied around town this weekend. Let's cut right to the chase, shall we?

Three Rivers Beer Week is a celebration of Pittsburgh breweries and beer is organized by the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild. It includes featured events managed by the guild and dozens of events run by the organization's 38 member breweries.

Here's a chance to browse displays from hundreds of exhibitors showcasing a variety of products and services that can add value to a home. Experts in home design will be available to give advice and products will be available for purchase.

  • Dino Stroll, Oct. 9, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Oct. 10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Monroeville Convention Center.

It's not often the opportunity arises to get up close to life-like and life-size dinosaurs, some standing over 25 feet tall and spanning over 60 feet long. The animatronic dinosaurs are created with moving heads, necks, tails, wings, eyes blinking, mouths that open and close, breathing movements, synchronized sounds and many more exquisite details that bring them to
life.

After a year's hiatus because of the pandemic, the Columbus Day Parade that has been a tradition in Pittsburgh's Little Italy since 1985 is back. The event will feature a variety of floats, parades and marching bands, and the grand marshal will be legendary Steelers running back Franco Harris.

One of western Pennsylvania's most popular performers for decades, King Cool is known for such hits as "Ah! Leah!," "Love Is Like A Rock," and of course "The Rapper," a smash hit when he was a member of the Jaggerz. Admittance requires proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test results within the past 72 hours.
