Consumer Alert Issued For Pittsburgh Restaurant

The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for a Pittsburgh eatery. Find out here what an inspection uncovered.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for No. 1 Sushi Sushi on Market Street, Downtown.

An inspection Thursday revealed multiple malfunctioning coolers resulting in insufficient refrigeration capacity to operate safely.

The inspector also found that the front cooler had been turned off nightly and then stocked in the morning before the temperature was 41 degrees or lower.

Packaged salmon, romaine lettuce, white fish were found to have temperatures above 45 degrees and had to be discarded.

The temperature of two residential-style refrigerators in the kitchen and basement were found to be 57 and 52 degrees, respectively.

The eatery also has no public restroom.

A restaurant with a consumer alert placard is allowed to operate for a temporary period not exceeding 10 days. Another inspection is conducted either prior to the expiration of the temporary period upon request of the eatery owner or on the tenth day.
