Cranberry Getting New Townhouse Development
Ninety-three unit development near the township YMCA is larger than initially planned.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Plans are advancing for a large housing development near the township YMCA whose entrance currently is a private gravel road.
Being built on a 25-acre site formerly owned by the Schneider family whose name adorns the YMCA is a 93-unit townhome community consisting primarily of three-, five-, and six-unit structures. That’s a dozen more units than initially were proposed in January, but developer Shawnee Cranberry LLC acquired additional property for the community since then.
The townhouses will be accessed from Florida Boulevard, the gravel road across from the auto auction. Numerous improvements are planned for the road. Sidewalks will be added, as will lighting, trees and municipal water and sewer service. Florida Boulevard also also will be upgraded to better accommodate traffic turning onto the road from Route 19.
