PITTSBURGH, PA - Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala on Wednesday corrected a KDKA-TV report that he will investigate sexual assault claims against New England Patriot and former Pittsburgh Steeler Antonio Brown.

Brown's former trainer, Britney Taylor, filed a lawsuit in the Southern District of Florida Tuesday alleging that Brown assaulted her three times. Brown has denied the accusations through his attorney, saying their relationship was consensual.

No criminal charges have been filed.

The civil lawsuit details an alleged incident in June 2017 in which Taylor was in the bathroom of his Pittsburgh residence. The lawsuit alleges that Brown walked in with his penis exposed and grabbed her and kissed her without her consent.

But Zappala's office on Wednesday it will not investigate that claim, but rather a child endangerment allegation involving Brown.

"The incident that District Attorney Zappala referenced earlier today ...did not involve the incident mentioned in the federal lawsuit that has been filed," Zappala spokesman Mike Manko said in a statement. "That contact involved a conversation that our office had with Northern Regional Police Department concerning a possible child endangerment situation involving Mr. Brown. The result of that conversation was a decision that we could not move forward without investigating that claim.

"Neither Northern Regional Police Department nor our office was ever contacted about the 2017 event that is contained in the federal lawsuit."

Other allegations against Brown relate to activity that supposedly occurred in Florida. It's unclear whether prosecutors there will review the civil suit's assertions.

Brown signed with the Patriots Saturday, hours after the Oakland Raiders released him. The Steelers traded the mercurial wide receiver to Oakland in the off-season.
