Deadly Day In Pittsburgh: 2 People Shot To Death

The two were killed in separate shootings on Sunday, police said.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Two people were killed in separate shootings in the city Sunday.

Shortly before 3 p.m., police responded to reports of a woman shot at Finance Street and North Homewood Avenue in Homewood by the East Busway overpass. The victim, 21, suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body; she was taken to the hospital where she died.

The victim's name has not been released.

Police are searching for two men who were wearing masks and black clothing. They reportedly fled the area in a vehicle on North Homewood Avenue towards Penn Avenue.

Just before 4:30 p.m., police were dispatched to Stedman Street at Fontella Street for a man found shot inside of a vehicle. The man was in the driver's seat, suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and left shoulder. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as Joseph Anthony Sees.

Police have not identified a suspect in that shooting.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
