Death Penalty To Be Sought For Accused McKeesport Cop Killer
Jonathan Morris is accused of fatally shooting McKeesport police officer Sean Sluganski last month.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Prosecutors will seek the death penalty against the man accused of killing a McKeesport police officer and wounding another in February, the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office announced Friday.
Jonathan Morris, 31, is accused of killing officer Sean Sluganski, 32, and injuring officer Charles Thomas, 35, on Feb. 6.
Morris has been charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, assault of a law enforcement
officer and first-degree criminal attempted murder.

Sluganski and Thomas responded to a domestic-related disturbance call where they encountered Morris, who had been acting aggressively toward family members. The gunfire exchange occurred in the 1300 block of Grandview Avenue.
According to the criminal complaint, Morris is a veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and was having an episode.
