Deutschtown Music Fest, Star Wars Top Pittsburgh Weekend Events
Here is Patch's guide to the coolest weekend activities around town.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The 6th annual Deutschtown Music Festival on the North Side arguablly is the most significant local music event of the year. Featuring 335 bands, 11 outdoor stages and 26 indoor venues, the festival has a little bit of something for everybody.
Friday and Saturday will be full-day events taking place across multiple outdoor and indoor stages. Three main stages are featured during the day - two in Allegheny Commons Park and the other on a closed-off block of Foreland Ave. A beer garden will exist in a closed-off portion of the city-owned parking lot next to the main stage. Family-friendly programming is featured during the daytime, with more than 30 food trucks, children’s activities, an artists’ market, and other activities. Free bus shuttles with multiple stops in the North Side and North Shore will be available for those attending.
Admission to the Deutschtown Music Festival is free.

Based on the Oscar-nominated film, this 10-time Tony Award nominee features a catchy pop score that will have you tapping your toes.

It’s your last chance to catch the Bucs before the All-Star Game break and likely one of your last chances to see a number of veteran players who are likely to be dealt at the trade deadline as the disappointing Bucs raise the white flag on the 2018 season. The weekend promotions: Free Shirt Friday, Josh Bell Bobblehead Day on Saturday and Kids Lunch Bag Day on Sunday.

- Star Wars: A New Hope In Concert, July 13 and 14, 7 p.m., Heinz Hall, Downtown
This Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra presentation features screenings of the complete film with Oscar-winning composer John Williams’ musical score performed live to the film.Fans will be able to experience the scope and grandeur of this beloved film in a live symphonic concert experience.

There’s almost too much going on here to list. Come and check out more than 175 vendors, the carnival, 5K Community Chase Race, Chainsaw Expo and Village, the six-hole disc golf course, bingo, fireworks and more.
For Cranberry Township Community Days, a voluntary $5 donation will be collected in the parking areas.
