Donations Sought For Pittsburgh Coronavirus Victim's Funeral

A GoFundMe page has been established to help defray funeral expenses for Ofelia Rousseva, 78.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Friends of the family of Allegheny County's second fatal coronavirus case are raising money to help cover her funeral costs. Ofelia Rousseva, 78, died March 19 while visiting her family in Greenfield.

A GoFundMe page where donations can be made said Mrs. Rousseva was a native of Sofia, Bulgaria. A graducate of the Bulgarian State Music Academy, she was the founder and music director of ARFA Ladies Chamber Choir. Under her direction, the organization won international competitions, made several recordings and participated in numerous international music festivals.

Mrs. Rousseva is survived by her son, Ludmil; her daughter-in-law, Carmen; her granddaughter, Isabella and sisters Aneta and Ilonka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Svetoslav.

The GoFundMe page states that donations will go directly to Ludmil to help with funeral expenses and to assist the family during this challenging time. Because of the coronavirus outbreak, a funeral will not be held immediately but a service will be scheduled when friends and family can gather safely.
