Downtown Pittsburgh Getting New Wine Bar And Tapas Restaurant

The Pittsburgh Cultural District is getting a national wine bar chain on Penn Avenue.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A wine bar and tapas restaurant is on its way to Pittsburgh's Cultural District. Barcelona Wine Bar is moving into the space once occupied by the Sharp Edge Bistro on Penn Avenue, which closed in 2020.

Barcelona Wine Bar is expected to open sometime in 2023.

According to its website, the eatery has an "ever-changing menu is focused on clean flavors,
seasonal ingredients, specialties from Spain and the Mediterranean, and rustic small plate presentations created by chefs with tremendous talent. Barcelona offers an award-winning selection of wines from Spain and South America—and boasts one of the largest Spanish wine programs in the U.S."
