Downtown Pittsburgh Melee: Shots Fired, Officer Injured In Fight
Two people were arrested Tuesday night after a fight broke out a fast food restaurant and shots were fired in Downtown Pittsburgh.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Two people were arrested and a police officer was injured after a fight broke out and gunshots erupted in Downtown Pittsburgh.
Police were called to Market Square for a reported fight around 7:20 p.m. When they arrived, the observed juveniles in a dispute at the Five Guys fast food restaurant. An officer suffered a hand injury while attempting to break up the fight, and a juvenile was arrested for assaulting the officer.
The officer was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

While handling the Market Square incident, police were notified of shots fired nearby near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Coffey Way. Police located evidence of gunfire but did not find any victims.
Police arrested Jasyean Randall, 18, near the scene of that incident. According to court documents, he faces six counts of aggravated assault, six counts of recklessly endangering another person, carrying a firearm without a license, alter or obliterate a mark of identification, flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest and other charges.

Randall is being held in the Allegheny County Jail. Police have not said if he was involved in the Five Guys fight shortly before shots were fired.
