Earth Day Pittsburgh 2018: Food Trucks, Pub Crawls & Ma Nature
The local Earth Day celebration will be spread over three days this year.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Earth Day in Pittsburgh just isn’t about the environment. It’s about learning about the environment and having fun while doing so.
So you can expect food trucks, pub crawls, pop-up stores and other things not normally associated with green efforts. Here’s a Patch rundown of the activities:
- Ecolution Fashion Show, April 19, 6 p.m., Fairmont Hotel, Downtown
The “Forces of Nature” theme will feature a runway fashion show highlighting recycled and reused materials designed exclusively for Pittsburgh Earth Day by local designers.

- Sustainability Business Breakfast, April 20, 8 a.m., Fairmont Hotel, Downtown.
A panel of experts will discuss Pittsburgh’s sustainable business community and reveal what your organization can do to succeed by going green.
- Paint the Square Green, April 20-21, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Market Square
Market Square will feature a world market specializing in earth-friendly products and services, along with organic and educational vendors and live music.

- Great Lakes Brewing Sustainable Sips Pub Crawl, April 21, 1-5 p.m., Market Square
Stop by Great Lakes Brewing Company’s tent in Market Square to pick up a pub crawl passport. To complete the crawl, participants must go to each of the seven participating bars listed in the passport between 1PM to 5PM, have a beer there beers and get their individual passports stamped by the bar staff.
Once completed, participants will return to the Great Lakes tent and show their stamped passport. For every five completed passports received, Great Lakes will plant a tree. Participating bars are Diamond Market, Winghart’s the Yard, Primanti Bros., Revel + Roost, Nola on the Square, City Works and Harris Grill.
- Food Truck Festival, April 20-21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Smithfield Street across from the Oliver Building, Downtown.
Participating vendors include BRGR, Evil Swine BBQ, Oh My Grill, PGH Crepes, PGH Halal Food, Sugar and Spice, Burgh Bites, Bull Dawgs, Cool Beans, Pgh Pierogi, Randita’s and The Wok of Life.
- RefuseFest, April 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Children’s Hospital employee parking lot, 55th and Harrison streets, Lawrenceville.
Clean out the closets, the garage and the basement for the Pennsylvania Resources Council’s seventh annual ReuseFest will collect materials to be reused by local nonprofits. There also will be food trucks, pop-up shops, children’s craft projects, giveaways, volunteer sign-up opportunities and more.
