PITTSBURGH, PA — Those wondering when the oppressive heat in the Pittsburgh area will occur should take heart. The end of near-record high temperatures and stifling humidity is on the way.

The Pittsburgh metro area remains under a National Weather Service Excessive Heat Warning until 8 p.m. on Saturday. The expected high will be 95 on Saturday.

If you can make it through the day, an approaching cold friend will limit the high temperature to the upper 80s on Sunday, with showers and thunderstorms expected. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
On Monday, expect sunny skies with the high temperature only making it to 84. After two days of highs in the mid- to upper 80s, another cold front will push Thursday's high down to a relatively comfortable 81.
