Ex-NFL Player, West PA Native Terrelle Pryor Arrested
Pryor, a Jeannette native, is facing several criminal charges.

JEANNETTE, PA — Former NFL player and Jeannette native Terrelle Pryor was arrested Wednesday by Penn Township police following an altercation at his residence in which he allegedly struck his girlfriend. Pryor is charged with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief.
According to police, Pryor and the girlfriend, Shalaya Briston, got into an argument via text messaging while she was at a bar. Briston told police that when she returned home, Pryor shoved her, slapped her in the face and threw a deck chair at her.
He also allegedly threw pumpkins at Briston's Mercedes Benz as she fled the scene, damaging the vehicle.

Pryor denied striking Briston but admitted to throwing the pumpkins.
Pryor faces a preliminary hearing on Oct. 19.

Pryor was a star quarterback at Jeannette High School and played for Ohio State in college. His NFL career, in which he primarily played wide receiver, included stints with the Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.
Last year, Pryor and Briston were sentenced to probation as a result of a 2019 stabbing incident.
Pryor pleaded down from misdemeanor assault to harassment and received 90 days probation. Briston pleaded down from felony aggravated assault to misdemeanor simple assault and got two years probation.
According to police, the couple began arguing after Briston returned with friends from an evening out. During the altercation, Briston allegedly grabbed a sharp object and stabbed Pryor.
