Family Raising Money For 7th Grader's Funeral Expenses

BRIDGEVILLE, PA — The family of the 7th-grade Chartiers Valley Middle School student who collapsed and died at basketball practice is attempting to raise money to cover his funeral expenses.

Jay Kidd, the father of Jayson Kidd, 12, created a GoFundMe page after Jayson's death.

"We never expected anything like this to happen to our family," he wrote.

" Jayson’s heart stopped during basketball practice and they could not bring him back. Unfortunately we did not have life insurance on Jayson because he was only 12 yrs old...My family appreciates any help we can get. Thank you all for the support."
