Fate of Gander Mountain Stores In Western Pennsylvania Unclear
Gander Mountain stores are liquidating their inventory, but new owner Camping World pledges to keep the bulk of the chain's locations open.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Gander Mountain is going out of business, but it’s unclear if the outdoors retailer’s three western Pennsylvania locations will close.
The company announced over the weekend on its website that it would shut down all 126 of its stores nationwide after the chain was purchased by competitor Camping World. But on Sunday, Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis said Twitter that he intends to keep at a majority of the stores open, presumably under the Camping World name.
"A liquidator bought the inventory that's in the stores and they have the right to sell that inventory down and out as if it's going away. But the confusing message is whether a store is staying open or not,” he told IndyStar. “And ultimately we control the leases ... every single property. And my intention is to keep at least 70 open."
