Fate Of Pittsburgh Target CVS Pharmacy Locations Unclear

CVS reportedly will close dozens of its Target pharmacy locations nationwide over the next several months.

PITTSBURGH, PA — CVS will close some pharmacies located in Target stores over the next several months. The closures will begin in February and be completed by April.

The Wall Street Journal reported dozens of pharmacies will be shuttered.

If your Target CVS pharmacy is closing, your prescriptions will be transferred to a nearby CVS pharmacy prior to the closure.

CVS has not yet disclosed which of its Target locations will be closing, but said affected employees would be offered positions at other locations.

In 2001, CVS announced plans to close 900 of its approximately 9,900 locations by 2024, calling the move a "new retail footprint strategy aligned to evolving consumer needs."
