Federal Probe Of Pittsburgh Medical Center Ends, Attorney Says
The FBI confiscated records from the center last year.
PITTSBURGH, PA – The United States Department of Justice has closed its investigation into Greentree Medical Center, an attorney for the center said. The center shares a building with High Field Imaging on Greentree Road, where law enforcement activity was observed in March 2022.
According to the inventory of items taken for review by the FBI, the investigation appeared to focus on a large number of the COVID -19 tests and treatments administered by the medical center in the early stages of the pandemic.
“The government gets test results and billing data from medical practices, and it uses computers to monitor for unusual activities," Joe Valenti, the center's attorney, said in a statement. "They
won’t disclose exactly what drew their attention, but you can imagine that GTMC far exceeded the average number of COVID tests and treatments provided."
