Fiddler On The Roof, WXXP Reunion Top Pittsburgh Weekend Events
Just because it's a holiday weekend doesn't mean there aren't entertaining things to do.

PITTSBURGH, PA - On a Thanksgiving weekend in which the entertainment options aren’t as plentiful as they would be on a non-holiday weekend, there are worse ways to spend your time than checking out the “Fiddler on the Roof revival at the Benedum Center.
Tony-winning director Bartlett Sher and the team behind the recent revivals of “South Pacific,” and “The King and I” bring a fresh vision to this decades-old theatrical masterpiece. This production of “Fiddler” is introducing a new generation of fans to classic songs such as “Tradition,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “If I Were A Rich Man,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker” and “To Life (L’Chaim!).”
You can catch “Fiddler” Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
“Fiddler on the Roof” tickets start at $35.

Other weekend highlights:
- Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Columbus Blue Jackets, Nov. 24, 7 p.m., PPG Paints Arena
OK, so the Penguins are mired in last place, have been playing some of their worst hockey in years and Sidney Crosby, who has been nursing an upper body injury, likely own't be 100 percent. But c’mon, you can’t just sit on the living room couch and gorge on Thanksgiving leftovers all weekend. It’ll do you good to get out of the house and see some hockey - as long as you don’t take a sip of your beer every time Matt Murray gives up another soft goal.

In this family-oriented performance, first grader Junie B. Jones draws the name of her nemesis - May the tattletale - for the Secret Santa gift exchange. Does Junie give the little snitch the present she deserves or will the Christmas spirit of peace and goodwill interfere? The show is only about an hour long, so it won’t take you long to fine out.
Junie B. Jones tickets start at $20.
- Nick’s Fat City Reunion 2.0, Nov. 24, 6 p.m., Stage AE, North Shore.
Fourteen years after its demise, Nick’s Fat City still rekindles fond memories for many who frequented the South Side club. This reunion show is headlined by longtime local favorites The Clarks and also features the Buzz Poets, Brownie Mary, Gathering Field, Grapevine, Dharma Sons, Push and Sauce.
Nick’s Fat City Reunion 2.0 tickets at $30 at the door.
- WXXP 33 ⅓ Reunion, Nov. 23, 6 p.m., Stage AE North Shore
It’s certainly a busy weekend for musical-themed reunions. This one pays tribute to the city’s short-lived first alternative rock station and features reunions of many of the local bands whose music the station played. They include The Affordable Floors and Eleventh Hour, along with the Reckoning, Re-52s, members of Seven Color Sky, members of Rich Mahogany & The Leather Bound Books and others.
