Food Bank Distribution Aids People In More Than 800 Vehicles

The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank provided assistance to people in hundreds of vehicles Monday.

DUQUESNE, PA - The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank distributed food Monday to 861 vehicles in three hours. That brings the total number of vehicles served at emergency distributions to 5,970 vehicles during the coronavirus outbreak.

The Pennsylvania National Guard assisted food bank staff and volunteers in handing out boxes of food that weighed about 60 pounds.

The food bank is planning drive-up distributions over the next several weeks in Pittsburgh and Beaver, Butler and Greene counties. Details will be announced once they are confirmed.
