SANTA MONICA, CA— Former "Dance Moms" star and Pittsburgh native Abby Lee Miller has filed an $8.5 million lawsuit against Hampton Inn & Suites parent company after a bathroom door allegedly fell and crushed her.

According to multiple media outlets, Miller contends she was staying at the Santa Monica Hampton Inn in August 2020 when the 300-pound door fell on her as she wheeled herself out of the bathroom. Miller has been in a wheelchair since 2018 after contracting lymphoma.

The lawsuit alleges Miller was pinned in the wheelchair for 6 to 12 minutes as she screamed for help. Two hotel staffers eventually lifted the door off of her.
