Former Del's Restaurant In Bloomfield To Become New Eatery

Del's, the legendary dining spot near the Bloomfield Bridge, will reopen as a new restaurant later this year.

PITTSBURGH, PA — For more than 60 years, Del's Bar & Ristorante was a cornerstone of the dining scene on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield. Now, a third restaurant since Del's closed in 2015 will try to be successful in the well-known space.

Camino Mexican Street Food will open soon in the building near the Bloomfield Bridge, Next Pittsburgh reported. The restaurant will be operated by the owners of Totopo Mexican Kitchen and Bar in Mt. Lebanon and Tocayo Taqueria & Tequila in Shadyside.

The building has been vacant since mid-2019, when Sugar and Smoke closed after a brief run. Before that, Jabo's Smoque House operated there for about two years before closing in the spring of 2018.

Another legendary Bloomfield establishment, the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern adjacent to the Del's building, has been vacant since its closure in 2017.
