Former Pitt Quarterback Charged With Multiple Felonies
A former University of Pittsburgh quarterback is in jail after being accused of two felony crimes. Get the details here.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Former University of Pittsburgh quarterback Phil Jurkovec, a former high school standout locally who also played college football for Notre Dame and Boston College, is facing felony charges related to a vehicular theft.
Jurkovec, 26, was arrested Friday after allegedly stealing a box truck from the Allegheny Health Network's Wexford Hospital in Pine.
Jurkovec is accused of taking the truck, owned by Rental Time, as a driver was attempting to pick up chairs and tables used at a hospital function on Thursday.

He was apprehended a short time later in Cranberry after Rental Time was able to monitor the vehicle's location via its GPS.
Jurkovec was charged by Highmark Health Police with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, both felonies. He is being held at the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

He is a former star football player at Pine-Richland High School. He played football at Notre Dame and Boston College before transferring to Pitt for the 2023 season. He was the starting quarterback for four games before being benched.
