PITTSBURGH, PA —Former NFL player Terrelle Pryor, a Jeannette native who has had legal issues in the past, has one again.

Pryor has been charged with drug possession after a vehicle he was in was pulled over by authorities in Monroeville last month.

When he was asked to produce identification, officers noticed a plastic baggie containing suspected MDMA in his hand. MDMA is a synthetic drug that acts as both a stimulant and a psychedelic. It is known for altering mood and perception.

Pryor, 36, a Jeannette High School graduate, was a starting quarterback at Ohio State University, but his career in the National Football League was marginal at best.

It included stints - mostly as a wide receiver - with the Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.

The drug possession arrest is not Pryor's first brush with the law.

In 2022, he pleaded guilty to criminal mischief charges and was fined $300 for damaging his girlfriend's car by throwing a pumpkin at it.

Seriously.

In 2020, he pleaded guilty to a harassment charge resulting from a physical altercation with his girlfriend.
