Former Pittsburgh-Area Restaurant Goes Up In Flames

A vacant building that formerly housed a popular Pittsburgh-area eatery caught on fire early Thursday.

WILKINS TOWNSHIP, PA — Firefighters were called to the scene of a large fire that broke out at a former restaurant in the 3500 block of William Penn Highway.

The blaze erupted shortly before 3:30 a.m. at the former Hooters property near Home Depot.

No injuries were reported.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal's Office is on the scene. No official cause of the fire has been released, but one person has been taken into custody in connection with the blaze, according to WPXI-TV.

The restaurant, which was the last remaining Hooters in the Pittsburgh area, has been vacant for several years.
