Former Pittsburgh Steelers Player Missing For 2 Weeks

PITTSBURGH, PA — Former Pittsburgh Steelers Cameron Sutton has been missing for about two weeks after being charged with domestic battery by strangulation - a third-degree felony that could give him up to five years in prison.

Sutton on Thursday was released by his former team, the Detroit Lions.

Police have not been a able to locate Sutton since the warrant was issued in Florida on March 7, according to ESPN.

Sutton, 29, a Tennessee University graduate was a third-round selection by the Steelers in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Sutton last played for the Steelers in the 2022 season, finishing the season with 43 tackles, three interceptions and 15 passes defended. Last year, he signed a three-year, $33 million contract with the Lions.

"We became aware of the ongoing legal situation involving Cam Sutton this morning," the Lions said in a statement. "We will continue to monitor the situation and will not have further comment at this time."
