Funeral Arrangements Set For Slain PA Police Chief

Brackenridge police Chief Justin McIntire was killed in the line of duty on Monday.

NEW KENSINGTON, PA — Funeral arrangements have been made for Brackenridge police Chief Justin McIntire, who was shot to death Monday while on duty.

Visitation will take place Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Ross. G. Walker Funeral Home at 217 Freeport Road in New Kensington.

Chief McIntire's funeral will occur at noon Wednesday at Mount Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Airy Cemetery in Harrison.

Chief McIntire, 46, died in the shooting near 6th Avenue and Morgan Street in Brackenridge. The suspect, Aaron Lamont Swan, 28, died later that day in an encounter with police in Pittsburgh's Homewood section.
