The two chains are celebrating National Coffee Day with freebies. What about Starbucks?
PITTSBURGH, PA - There’s no better way to celebrate National Coffee Day than with some java and two chains are giving away freebies on Friday to commemorate this momentous annual event. Starbucks fans will be disappointed to learn that neither one is the Seattle-based coffee superpower.
At Dunkin Donuts, anyone who purchases a medium, large or extra large cup of the brand’s signature hot coffee will receive an additional medium-sized hot coffee for free. At Sheetz, you can get a free pumpkin pie latte if you order through the Sheetz app.
How is Starbucks marking the occasion? By changing all of its signage to reflect the brand’s ethical sourcing commitments and coffee farmer support. Will most consumers think that’s the best way for Starbucks to celebrate? Probably not.
