PITTSBURGH, PA —A spike in coronavirus cases in southwestern Pennsylvania has prompted Giant Eagle to again implement a mask policy at its stores.

All employees will be required to wear a mask, cloth face covering or face shield beginning Wednesday at all Giant Eagle, Market District and GetGo stores. Customers are "strongly encouraged" to wear them starting Friday.

"We will have team members ready at each of our stores to provide a complimentary mask for any guest who does not have one when they visit with us," the grocery chain stated in a news release. "Additionally, our Giant Eagle curbside pickup and delivery service continues to be available for all guests who prefer the convenience of having one of our team members shop for them.”
