PITTSBURGH, PA — A gun was found in a three-year-old pre-K student's lunch bag Wednesday at Pittsburgh Morrow Pre-K-8 School in the city's Brighton Heights section.

A staff member discovered the weapon while preparing to hand out the lunch bags. The gun was given to Pittsburgh Public Schools police officers, who contacted city police, public safety officials said Thursday.

It was not immediately clear if the weapon was loaded.
